Ideas have travelled to and from Scarborough, a port and safe harbour, from all over the world via the sea for thousands of years, using trade routes, goods, artefacts, language, culture and people. ‘Big Ideas By The Sea’ is a festival that will encourage sharing and exploration of ideas, how they might change peoples lives, the impact they have on society, culture and life over millennia.
Taking place from 14-16 May 2021 in venues across Scarborough, the ‘Big Ideas By The Sea’ festival will welcome speakers, creative practitioners and community groups to share their Big Idea, with the programme exploring ‘Environment and Place’, ‘Art and Change’ and ‘Education and Our Shared Future’. The Big Dig
